My brother just bought tickets for Christmastime.  The entire family is going out there to see my sister graduate from her Ph. D.  Thought that the best time to buy tickets is four months before the trip, but I am now seeing on other websites that the best time is, like, right now.

Went down the ticket-searching rabbit hole for the past 20 minutes and it's about a grand.  I thought about splitting it up, trying to see if I can piece together a segmented round-trip whereby the stopover city would create an overall cheaper ticket, but so far, no dice.  Man, I need to buy a ticket for this now?
