I Left A Bandage On For A Month -- So What?

You know those activation stickers on credit cards you're supposed to peel off and throw away once you activated them?  I never do.  Why?  It's too much work.  Plus it's not hurtin' anyone, right?

I feel the same way with bandages.  I keep them on until they fall off.  And if only one side of the Band-Aid is off, I try to stick it back where it was.  I think the month-long that just fell off is my personal record.  Got it for a flu shot I got at work back on October 16.  I think it fell off Wednesday, so November 20.  A month and four days?  Wow!  The bandage is blue and was applied by a nurse, so maybe it's, like, an industrial strength one.  It held up through showers and rubbing up against my bedsheet until it finally relented.  And now it's resting, face up, at my bedroom table, right by my side, right here as I write this.  And that is where it will stay.  Maybe.  Or maybe till Father throws it away.
