Completely Dodged The Rain

Woke up last/Tuesday night from an alcohol-induced late lunch downtown while watching the Women's Euro Match where Germany beat Spain, 2-0.  Probably hit the bed (hard) at 4:30.  Woke up at 7:30.  Still wanted to go to Target to use my discount to buy baking soda, get to Cub Foods and pick up the stuff I ordered on Amazon, and get cash for the double-team handjob I was going to get later in the evening.

I think I may have felt a few raindrops leaving Target, but maybe not.  Shortly after I left the parking lot, it began raining.  I noticed when I woke up from my hard and long nap/sleep that it had rained, and apparently it was going to rain again.  But it got harder and harder, and by the time I got to Cub, it was a deluge.

I didn't want to get out, but I didn't have a whole lot of time because ***e* and ******e were coming by at 9:30.  (They eventually got here a bit past 10; they were at the casino [shrug].)  So I decided to give it till about 9 o'clock; if it were still raining then, I'll take out the umbrella, grab the plastic bags I want to recycle at Cub, and make a dash for it.

The raindrops got harder and much more numerous.  It was a squall outside my car, no doubt.  But I could breathe in my car because my car was protecting me.  I was totally dry, while every other poor sucker in the bubble outside my vehicle was getting soaked to the bone.  And to think I got into this cocoon just before it rained (I think) and that, hopefully, I'll be able to walk outside in dryness after the rain.

The rain quieted.  I saw a rainbow out in the distance.  It got worse again.  But I think at around 8:59, the rain slowed down big time.  Yep, it's one of those summer showers that came and went.  And I opened the car door and felt not a drop fall from the sky.  I walked sans umbrella in to Cub to get my delivery.  Did the same at the gas station.  And once I got home, I grabbed everything I could and walked at my own pace to the front door because I was extremely fortunate and completely dodged the rain.
