A moment of silence, friends, for the last WMNSS with only one team for the rest of the year ... and, very possibly, for a long, long time.
#-1: Twins (Last Week: -1). They had a 3-3 week, and yet it seemed this week was so depressing for the team. The week is bookended with series against the Kansas City Royals, the defending World Series champions but are probably not going to even reach the playoffs to defend their title because they're hovering around .500 all year. And yet they took two-of-three from the Twinks at Target last weekend, and then they shook down Tyler Duffey for five runs in the fourth inning on their way to an 8-1 crushing last (Thursday) evening. To me, this just shows that this organization is still unable to show any fight against a bully that was once a shrimp just like them, and that's demoralizing. At least they went to Atlanta and won both games of that strange two-game series. Unfortunately, that makes the Twinks even with The Worst Team In Baseball, because The Bastard Boston-By-Way-Of-Milwaukee Braves came up here late last month and won both games of a strange two-game series.
Maybe there should be more to say, but let's not. After finishing the series in K.C. this weekend, they will host three games vs. Detroit starting on Tuesday.
