Where Did My Monopoly Pieces Go?

I've loved playing the Monopoly "game" at McDonald's ever since it started, and I stuck to them even when it was revealed that the early years were a total sham.  Don't exactly know its appeal to me; I just liked getting the pieces, tearing off the back, and sticking them to the paper "boards" they gave out.

Well, even though they don't allow you to stick them on anymore, which really was one of things I liked the most about the game, and although I haven't won anything of significance yet, every year I still go there.  I don't go to Mickey D's regularly anymore, but the vast majority of my visits there annually come when Monopoly rolls around.  Hey, I told you about one stealth promotion they had before they started up one year, when I freaked out when the straw I was drinking my Coke with changed color?

Still, I don't think I've been there as much as I have this time around.  I need to get out of the house to keep up with the ruse that I'm still working.  Might as well go to McDonald's and thoroughly try their breakfast menu!  (BTW, oatmeal's pretty good, but their new Egg White McMuffin is three bucks!)  Breakfast has usually been where I've racked up my game pieces.  Nothing special beyond free food, but you should see my game board, which now essentially is just a wallet, with pockets holding all the game pieces, none of which are the rare ones that are key to completing a color group or railroad monopoly and getting me one of the big prizes.

But now my Monopoly board is gone.  I don't exactly remember the last time I saw it, but this evening I got done with inputting the codes online for my (futile) chance to win a car, and I wanted to stuff my "properties" in the board, but I couldn't find it.  Well, that's just great, isn't it?

Honestly, if I don't have that, why go back to McDonald's?  I'd kind of feel like it was a waste, racking up all those properties only to lose them.  I probably wouldn't have won anyway, so why return there?  Well, I still have the free food pieces in the back pocket of my shorts, so I'll go back to McD's for that.  Whew, so glad I didn't put those winning pieces in the board.
