Republicans = Assholes

I am so fucking pissed off about this Trumpcare bill, and know so little of its details (not that it's my fault; the Republicans haven't even read the goddamn thing), that I don't want to think I can take a deep dive into its intricacies without being called out by RWNJs.

But what I find particularly disgusting is the puerile glee these Republican Assholes had after the House passed this bill yesterday.  These fucking frat boys actually held a circle jerk poorly disguised as a press conference at the White House right after the vote to celebrate taking health care away from 24 million people.  The shit-eating grins on their faces pisses me the fuck off.  Why are they so goddamn happy?  Do they really revel in thinking that the poor will be punished for getting sick?  Are they anticipating how they about to take the money that is supposed to be funding Obamacare and put it in their pockets and the pockets of the billionaires who they whore for?  Are they actually glad that they are taking something away from The Black Guy?  Probably all of the above.

Charlie Pierce said it best in this piece on Esquire.com, the best paragraphs of which are:
Goddamn them all. Goddamn the political movement that spawned them and goddamn the political party in which that movement found a home, and goddamn the infrastructure in which their pus-bag of an ideology was allowed to fester until it splattered the plague all over the government. Goddamn anyone who believes that blind, genetic luck is a demonstration of divine design. Goddamn anyone who believes in a god who hands out disease as punishment. Goddamn anyone who stays behind the walls and dances while the plague comes back again.
And if the Democratic Party can't reduce these idiots to smoking ash through the stunning visuals that greeted this atrocious vote, then goddamn the Democratic Party, too.
I have two quibbles with this blockquote.  First, Pierce forgot to add all the stupid, delusional, narcissistic Republican Assholes who voted for these Republican Assholes.  Goddamn them all, too.  Also, he needs to stop bashing the Democratic Party.  They can't do anything about this because Republican Assholes have so corrupted the levers of representative government that I really don't think any Republican that has been deemed "vulnerable" because he or she voted for this bill will lose his or her seat in 2018.  Gerrymandering and voter suppression will keep those Republican Assholes in power.  Hate to say it, can barely believe it.  But I can barely believe a lot of what actually has happened in the past half-year.

Like I say, we get the government we deserve (Joseph de Maistre, paraphrasing), and if hell is what we want, hell is what we will have (Jack Johnson, also paraphrasing).

I should end this blog post before I get a heart attack thinking about this shit.  I soon won't be able to afford any heart medicine.
