United States Constitution, Article I, Section 9, Clause 8: "No Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."

Oh, by the way (and I don't think this is an addendum, more like an update), I went downstairs the evening after the dirty washing machine water went all over the floors of the laundry room and the pantry, and I swear that there was a musty odor -- smelling like, well, dirty washing machine water -- permeating those rooms. I don't think mold will build up since the air the past couple days has been dry enough to evaporate any water we didn't get Tuesday night. But if it seeped into the walls and is just sitting back there, who knows? That stank smell has to be coming from somewhere, right?
